EDITED BY : 2MINS READ

Canyon resources stand strong to deliver premium quality bauxite from Cameroon

Stage one is presumed to be a self-supporting bauxite mining operation with an ordinary, low cost and fast track path to market by using the preceding railway and port infrastructure.

The second stage is expected to unbolt higher export volumes and lower operating costs via the fixture of the Kribi railway extension which authorizes access to a deep-water port.

Guinea is considered as powerhouse country in the seaborne bauxite trade, delivering more than 50% of the work supplies and much of this is controlled by the Chinese. Canyon stands strong to supply an alternative source of finest quality bauxite from Cameroon, thus protecting the geopolitical risk situation for the need for geographical diversity.

The Minim Martap bauxite project is located 10 km from the 800 km railway track that links the project to the shallow port of Doula, Cameroon. The deep-water port at Kribi is proposed better for the long term, which requires a new 130 km rail link to serve several projects, not just limited to Canyon.
