According to Green Power, the EV Star Utility is designed to maximize its payload capacity by utilizing lightweight aluminium materials and electric vehicle technology without sacrificing its structural integrity. This compact truck can carry up to 5,740 pounds and has a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of over 14,300 pounds. It can travel up to 150 miles on a single charge and features an anti-skid, watertight, and washable interior with inverted aluminium "T" flooring.

GreenPower introduced the EV Star platform in 2020. Since then, it has circulated the product as a platform for buses, trucks and vocational vehicle builders to allocate the main body on them. In March 2020, the company declared a partnership with wireless charging system developer Momentum Dynamics.

Today, there is a type of commercial electric vehicle that is specifically designed for zero-emission transportation. It comes with a 118 kWh battery pack that can charge up to 19.2 kW using a standard Level 2 J1772 protocol or 60kW with fast DC charging. One such vehicle is the EV Star Refrigerated Box Truck, which allows for the transport of goods that require refrigeration while also providing greater payload capacity and an extended range.

Additionally, the EV Star Utility is another vehicle built on the same platform, which can meet various mid and last-mile delivery needs. This version is manufactured by Lion Truck Body, a company that specializes in vocational vehicles for industries such as landscaping, construction, agriculture, public works, and more, as stated in GreenPower's announcement today.

The Vice President of Medium Duty and Commercial Sales, Claus Tritt, commented: "With the EV Star Utility, we set out to create an all-electric vehicle that would quickly solve the supply and demand problem for the electric medium and heavy-duty vehicle market, which has traditionally been dominated by gas-guzzling, carbon-emitting vehicles."

GreenPower's new Nano Beast van is now available through its dealer network. It qualifies for up to $40,000 in tax credits and is eligible for the New Jersey ZIP program with $90 million in funding. The vehicle is a battery-electric Type A school bus built on the EV Star architecture, previously used for their successful electric bus.
