A long-term agreement is being signed between the Aluminium rolling and recycling company Gränges AB and the circularity and recycling solutions provider NG Nordic. Gränges has extended the partnership between the two companies to procure recycled aluminium to feed its Finspång production facility in Sweden. The increasing use of recycled aluminium is a firm step toward reducing the carbon footprint and improving resource efficiency while promoting sustainability.

Gränges is focused on processing and reusing aluminium in order to produce advanced aluminium solutions. The long-standing partnership between the two firms is built upon deliveries received by Gränges from NG Nordic’s recycling operations.

Commenting on the collaborative effort, Fredrik Spens, President of Gränges Europe, stated, “Long-term partnerships are essential to securing access to recycled materials and to continue advancing circular aluminium solutions.”

In line with his comment, Toni Ahtiainen, Executive Vice President Sustainable Materials, NG Nordic, noted, “Partnerships like this are key to accelerating the circular economy.”

NG Nordic sources recycled aluminium from a diverse pool of collected materials, using advanced sorting and recycling processes to maintain consistent quality, even when handling complex waste streams.

As part of the collaboration, the company deploys its Transparent Metal traceability system, offering clear visibility across material flows while enhancing control over sourcing origin, quality and volumes.

Spens observed, “The collaboration with NG Nordic strengthens our ability to optimise material flows across the value chain and deliver more sustainable products to our customers.”
