A man from Kerala has ingeniously designed a flying machine worth INR 2 lakhs with the help of a Bajaj Pulsar NS200 engine and aluminium as the base metal. Anand's innovative creation has been advertised through the YouTube Channel Village Vartha.
This is indefinitely one of the most significant applications of aluminium wherein the cost and weight of the product were controlled due to the untamed use of the non-ferrous metal. Moreover, aluminium's 100% recyclability enhances the sustainability quotient of this lightweight aircraft as the material used can be recycled time and again, creating a circular economy.
The aeroplane includes long wings, blades, a tail, tires, a seat for one person, and all necessary controls. The body is comprised of lightweight aluminium, and an electric two-wheeler powers the wheels. The wings are covered in fabric that traps air to help the aircraft fly.
It is worth noting that Anand does not have the proper certification to fly the aircraft legally, but he plans to seek official testing in Tamil Nadu with government permission. The engine requires 1 litre of petrol to cruise for 8 minutes, with more fuel needed for takeoff and landing.
The project took him about six months to complete and cost approximately Rs 2 lakh. We are impressed by the man's ingenuity and talent and hope that he can obtain the necessary permissions to fly his aircraft one day.
