The mayor of Châteauroux, Gil Averous and Christian Baron, mayor of Diors met in a videoconferencing with Bruno Le Maire, French Minister of Finance and Economy and the minister confirmed the state support for the Alvance Aluminum Wheels plant.
But the concern remains alive for the future of Alvance Aluminum Wheels, following the meeting with Bruno Le Maire. On 19th the minister discussed this mayor of Châteauroux and president of Châteauroux Métropole and said: "The State undertakes to find financing for the company for the next three months, the time to find a buyer.”
The idea of this support is although not clear, the insight is to save a little time and peace of mind when the situation is extremely delicate for the only manufacturer of aluminium rims production in France, which has declared insolvency.
However, the mayor of Châteauroux welcomes this commitment of the State but the coming weeks remains very uncertain. "We are not entirely reassured. We felt the concern of the Minister of the Economy. There is a desire to take care of the file but also, to tell the truth, and not to create false hopes”, adds Gil Avérous.
Over the past six years, Alvance Aluminum Wheels has gone through three phases of recovery, but the economic situation is not the same. "The current situation of the automobile market leaves no hope. We are not in a booming market which would justify buying double the wheels overnight", warns Gil Avérous, who is supposed to meet Agnès Pannier-Runacher, Minister Delegate in charge of Industry.
Christian Baron, mayor of Diors, also participated in this videoconference, said: "We have 287 families to save. It is an important company for the municipality of Diors. When you speak with the inhabitants, it is the purchasing power which is taken into account.”
"I felt that the minister was concerned about the situation. We felt a desire to save this company. He knows the file well”, he added.
