All Matters Studio, a Stockholm-based design studio, utilised both aluminium and marble to create the Frame05 table, which as per the studio, is both robust and stylish simultaneously. The top of this table, designed by the studio, consists of different marble slabs. The sculpture, Frame05, is made of Swedish stone attached to a robust frame of standard aluminium profiles.
Flexibility is another essential component of the design, and each of the aluminium profiles may be adjusted in length according to the required table size. Customers can select from various stones or anodised metal for a distinct look.
"Marble tables are absolutely stunning. But mining big chunks of stones, just for a specific table, is unsustainable. And big stones can be difficult to handle when moving. FRAME05 is designed with the aim of making an exclusive yet flexible marble table, that will be an elegant centerpiece through many decades, with the possibility to repair and adjust," said the designers.
The firm, led by Anne-Mette Krolmark and Fredrik Widén, felt the table needed to be contemporary. They chose materials that could be recycled and mended as a result. The naturally durable marble slabs can be replaced should damage occur, while the aluminium frame is left untreated, allowing it to be discarded and changed often.
