Renowned for its expertise in designing and manufacturing moulds and equipment for the automotive sector, FRANCI Spa also excels in producing mechanical components for industrial and hydroelectric power plants alongside specialized mechanical processes. This strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone for FIMIGroup, positioning it at the forefront of innovation and expansion in multiple key sectors.
Franci specialises in providing die sets and associated services for the metal sheet cold-forming market. Its primary clientele comes from the automotive sector, and necessitating bespoke die sets tailored to each new car model's specifications and accommodating varying production volumes.
During the last decade, the market has been characterised by a serious reduction of investment costs, which is achieved through worldwide purchase policies, reduction of development and construction technical times, and higher supplier involvement and responsibility.
At a cost exceeding 7.5 million euros, the operation ensured the preservation of sixty jobs and secured an industrial facility spanning over 10,000 m2, complete with fully equipped machine tools. Positioned directly along State Road 36, linking Lecco to Milan, this acquisition provides FIMIGroup with a crucial asset, ensuring the uninterrupted trajectory of its industrial expansion.
