The fight against COVID-19 is nowadays a global concern, and therefore, a priority for States and socio-professional organizations. Elite Mining Guinea SA offered a large batch of sanitary kits to the National Health Security Agency and food supplies to the communities impacted by its activities in the field.
This donation is made up of 100 COVID-19 rapid test molecules for the ANSS, 5 tonnes of rice, 20 boxes of soap and 10 Thermo flashes for the communities impacted by this mining project.
Alpha Boubacar Sow, CEO, Elite Mining Guinée SA said: “This humanitarian gesture is part of support desired by the government and respect for social and community partnership.”
Alpha Boubacar Sow also said: “In the mines, we have what we call social and community partnership. We cannot evolve in a mine where our communities are impacted and we cannot react. When there are such events or pandemics, if we have the possibilities, we must contribute to them.”
The company evolving in the exploitation of bauxite has reaffirmed the commitment of its company to always be close to the communities bordering their sites.
The CEO of the company Elite Mining Guinea suggested: “This food donation is purely humanitarian and social. Given the state of health emergency and the closure of entrances and exits to the capital Conakry, we assume that this is already causing negative impacts on the basket of the housewife. We must, therefore, contribute to help communities meet their needs.”
After having recalled that this mining company has just obtained its permit, the chief of staff of the Ministry of Mines and Geology welcomes this gesture which intervenes in this period of the global health crisis.
“On behalf of the Ministry of Mines and Geology, we thank the company Elite Mining Guinea for this gesture and we urge them to continue in this direction. I invite other mining companies to do the same. "
Receiving this donation, the deputy director-general of the ANSS was delighted, especially with these samples of COVID-19 rapid tests. He affirmed that these diagnostic molecules are arriving at the right time.
