Extruded aluminium product shipments in North America up in May 2017

<p>According to the latest report from Aluminium Association, shipments of Aluminum Extruded Products (extruded shapes, pipe & tube, and rod & bar) by U.S. and Canadian producers stood at an estimated 467.6 million pounds during May 2017, up 5.6% YOY. On a month on month comparison, shipments increased 7.4% over the April 2017 revised total of 435.4 million pounds.</p>

<p>Estimated shipments of Aluminium Drawing Stock, Bare Wire and Rod & Bar by U.S. and Canadian producers stood at 102.6 million pounds during May 2017, slightly off from the May 2016 revised total of 103.4 million pounds. On a month on month comparison, shipments rose 6.5% over the April 2017 revised total of 96.4 million pounds.</p>

<p>YTD shipments of extruded products through May 2017 stood at 2,229.3 million pounds, slightly up from the same period of 2016.Year-to-date shipments of Aluminium Drawing Stock, Bare Wire and Rod & Bar through May 2017 stood at 520.0 million pounds, up 4.9% over the same period of 2016.</p>
