Aluminium extrusion company Exlabesa Extrusions has made an investment in a 35 MN extrusion press to upgrade its Doncaster, UK factory. The new 35 MN extrusion press will replace its existing 20 MN extrusion press. The press will be used primarily to extrude profiles for automotive, architectural and industrial applications from aluminium billets with a diameter up to 254 millimetres and a maximum length of 1,400 millimetres.
Fernando Quinta, Director at Exlabesa Extrusions Doncaster said: “This investment will enable us to upgrade our plant and continue to deliver the outstanding quality our growing customer base relies on.”
Commissioning of the extrusion press in Doncaster is planned for the beginning of 2019.
With this new extrusion press, Exlabesa Extrusions Doncaster will improve energy efficiency as it uses start-stop technology that enables average energy savings of ten percent compared to modern presses without this system
Fernando commented: “Energy efficiency is good for the business and good for the planet. We’re proud to have invested in machinery that will enable us to reduce consumption intelligently.”
“We pride ourselves on the quality of our extrusion and the new plant will enable us to take our quality to the next level.”
Exlabesa Extrusions produces aluminium applications for market sectors including electronic trunking, air conditioning ceiling systems, signage, construction, green houses and many others. The company has an in-house paint plant, anodising, thermal break and CNC machining.
