Britain’s largest digital thermometer makes, Electronic Temperature Instruments (ETI), has rolled-out two metal thermometers designed for some the severe environments in the catering and food processing industries.
The CaterTemp and Therma K Metal hand-held thermometers come with IP67 protection, as they are designed to withstand being placed in up to a metre of water for 30mins at a time.
Both thermometers are housed in an extruded aluminium waterproof case and are said to incorporate the latest microprocessor technology with durability, designed for reliability and ease of use in day-to-day catering and food processing application.
The CaterTemp Metal thermometer measures temperature over the range of -49.9°C to 299.9°C. The instrument features a large LCD. The unit also incorporates an auto-power off facility that automatically turns the instrument off after 10 minutes.
Each CaterTemp Metal thermometer is supplied with a permanently attached, water-resistant food penetration probe with an Ø3.3 x 130mm stainless steel stem and one metre PU coiled lead. The probe is claimed to be versatile and suitable for a variety of applications including liquids, semi-solids and granular materials.
The Therma K Metal thermometer also incorporates an auto-power off facility that automatically turns the instrument off after 10 minutes. The secure battery compartment with a waterproof cover is located at the base of the instrument.
Peter Webb, ETI MD commented: “As we emerge from lockdown, the focus has been on the food and drink service sector as the industry looks to meet the demand of consumers who are also taking advantage of the Eat Out to Help Out campaign.”
“Operators in this space need a welcome dose of reassurance and our new robust thermometers are designed to provide that by aiding food safety and providing real-time, accurate temperature monitoring.”
