China’s automobile production and sales continued robust growth in June, marking the highest on record, according to the data released by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) on Friday, July 10. Data showed the production of automobiles was 2.33 million units, bringing the total manufacture to 10.11 million in the first half of 2020 (January to June), down by 16.8 per cent year-on-year. On a monthly basis, the production in June rose 6.3 per cent, while year-on-year by 22.5 per cent compared to the Y-o-Y hike of 18.2 per cent in the previous month. British Car manufacturer Lotus is to bring its steel fabrication and lightweight structures facilities together under one roof in Norfolk in a drive that will create 125 jobs. Headquartered in Hethel, the company will invest in its Hurricane Way factory in Norwich to create a new high-tech sub-assembly facility. The China Passenger Car Association data released on Thursday, July 9, that country’s new energy passenger car sales surged 25 per cent month-on-month to come in at 83,000 units in June, in the wake of domestic passenger vehicle market’s improvement over the past four months. However, on a year-on-year basis, new energy passenger car sales shrank 38.8 per cent in June. Accumulative sales in the first six months of the year totalled 313,000 units, down 44 per cent from the same period last year. Manufacturer Hunter Douglas stops making aluminium itself in Rotterdam and among other things, sun protection in Rotterdam. Production is no longer beneficial. The shells are extra spacious, comfortable, and greener models made by Hitachi Rail are due to enter service on the West Coast Main Line in 2022. Leading Welsh aluminium fabricator, Dudley’s Aluminium, has received new contracts to transform two police headquarters in South Wales. The project worth £1.4 million includes a four-story police learning centre, a human resources building and a two-story gym. The aluminium fabricator will install a range of Kawneer products including capped curtain walling, windows and doors. Dudley’s will work with Willmott Dixon on the build which includes revolving doors as well as automatic swing and sliding doors.
