On the other side of the planet, the Indian Oil Corporation Limited formed a joint venture in 2020 with Israel-based Phinergy, gradually manufacturing 100 aluminium plates capable of powering a 50-seater bus for 500 km.

It is interesting to note that India’s Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL) and Israel's Phinergy plan to commence their initial pilot of aluminium-air batteries soon. The IOCL and Phinergy joint venture was formed in 2020 to develop aluminium-air energy systems, including R&D, customisation, manufacturing, assembly, sale, and service of aluminium-air energy systems.
The beverage industry has been affected by the aluminium can shortage brought on by supply chain issues. Local breweries have been straining to fill the gap since the outbreak. The S27 Ales craft brewery in San Jose claimed that securing aluminium cans are becoming difficult for them.

Skeleton Technologies ensured an investment of 220 million euros (US$239.39 million) to build a new factory designed by Siemens to manufacture supercapacitors at Leipzig, Germany, as was declared by the energy storage technology firm based in Tallinn, Estonia, with the new facility estimated to begin production by 2024.

There has been a prevailing national crunch for beverage cans further elevating the rates of cans and hiking the prices of drinks naturally in California. Berrapack packaging company based in Aljustrel, Beja, alloted €1 million for the manufacturing of waterproof paper and aluminium packages for use in the food industry in the coming year, according to the proprietor on July 21. Berrapack is a subsidiary of Grupo Biquímicos, and ‘between 2024 and 2025’ it plans to construct a ‘root factory’ having ‘about 7,000 square metres situated in the northwest doorway of Aljustrel, Portugal.
