Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), the largest industrial company in the UAE outside of the oil and gas sector, proudly unveiled the EGA Academy on September 8. This exciting new initiative is all about boosting skill development and career growth within the industrial sector, paving the way for EGA's future success and contributing to the overall progress of the UAE's industrial scene.
The EGA Academy is a testament to EGA's dedication to nurturing talent in the aluminium industry, in line with Operation 300bn. Its mission is to boost productivity, enhance economic contributions and create new job opportunities.
The Academy will provide well-structured development pathways, expert-led training sessions and hands-on experiences for employees at every level. The programmes are crafted to bolster technical, professional and leadership skills, preparing staff to excel in a fast-changing industrial environment and to support future growth.
Whether it's an early-career trainee or a seasoned expert, employees can tap into personalised learning opportunities that resonate with their career goals. Plus, with the new EGA Academy App, employees can easily explore development options, monitor their career progress and receive ongoing feedback to help them grow both personally and professionally.
Abdulnasser Bin Kalban, Chief Executive Officer of Emirates Global Aluminium, stated, "For decades, we have invested in talent development for the competitiveness of our business, to achieve our aspiration of becoming a talent-driven organisation and to drive our contribution to the UAE's industrial growth. Establishing the EGA Academy is a big step forward and provides unparalleled opportunities for our employees to grow, lead and contribute to the long-term success of EGA."

The EGA Academy is making waves at the firm's Al Taweelah and Jebel Ali sites by bringing all of its training and development programs together under one strategic umbrella. This includes the company's standout National and Graduate Training programs.
Since its inception in 1982, the National Training programs have been gearing up high school graduates for technical roles within the company's industrial operations and administrative areas. Meanwhile, the Graduate Training program is designed for university graduates, offering a structured 18 to 24-month training experience for supervisory roles in corporate functions or hands-on industrial positions, like managing reduction cells.
Back in 2024, EGA had celebrated over 380 employees who had dedicated more than 25 years of service since 2020. This achievement highlights the firm's commitment to nurturing long-term careers and keeping experienced talent on board. The company's success is built on a culture of continuous improvement, bolstered by active training and development programs that offer structured management training to help employees climb the career ladder.
Through the EGA Academy, EGA is raising the bar for talent development, perfectly aligning workforce growth with the UAE's industrial goals. By bringing together all training efforts and offering personalised development paths, the company makes sure that employees are ready to lead the way in innovation, boost productivity and achieve long-term business success. This dedication to fostering both new and experienced talent solidifies its status as a frontrunner in the region's industrial landscape.
