Ducon sees a strong upswing in alumina handling projects as global demand accelerates

Ducon Technologies, which is also known as Ducon, a leading technology company engaged in the engineering, supply, and erection of turn-key projects, shared the outlook for its alumina handling projects segment. The segment is deemed to be driven by strong fundamentals of both the global and domestic industry.
The alumina industry is deemed to have a sustained growth, with the global consumption projected to reach 162 million tonnes by 2035. The increased production is due to the increased demand for lightweight aluminium in the automotive and aerospace sectors. Additionally, the rising demand for High-purity alumina (HPA) in the growing sectors like electronics, LEDs, and lithium-ion batteries is also nudging the production.
The recent geopolitical crisis has raised the vitality of resilient supply chains. Especially after Iran's missile and drone attack on two major aluminium facilities in Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, operated by Aluminium Bahrain (Alba) and Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA), has created possible disruptions in the global aluminium supply.
Because of certain turn of events, the global aluminium industry is expected to see a surge in investments, aiming to expand capacity and diversify infrastructure in other regions, including India.
Within the global alumina sector, India is deemed to emerge as one of the key players because of its ongoing capacity expansion and investment in the refining industry, which shall be utilised for the domestic bauxite resources. With this shift, the country will be boosting the demand for advanced systems in terms of material handling, storage and transportation. Within these fields, the firm's technologies are said to be excelling and can be proved with its long-standing track record.
Within the Indian territories, the firm has completed and launched multiple alumina-related projects for the top industry players. These projects include Utkal Alumina International Limited's Alumina Handling & Wagon Loading System in Rayagada and Hindalco Industries Ltd.'s Bath Recycling System and Alumina Unloading & Transport System for the Mahan Aluminium Project in Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh.

Commenting on the outlook, Aron Govil, the CEO of the firm, stated, “We are witnessing a strong pipeline of opportunities in the alumina sector, both in India and globally. Our decades of experience, proven execution capabilities, and installed base with marquee clients position us well to capitalise on the next phase of growth in this segment.”
With high dedication, Ducon Technologies continues to provide efficient, dependable, and eco-friendly material handling solutions, aiding various firms to cater to the changing demand patterns concerning the global alumina and aluminium industries.
