The global aluminium foil market is poised for strong growth, predicted to rise from $26.3 billion in 2022 to $42.3 billion in 2032, mainly due to its effective barrier properties that cater to packaging needs. The United States and Europe, with a 2022 market value of $8.69 billion, are expected to maintain a 5 per cent CAGR till 2030.

The United States experienced a continuous increase in aluminium crude metals and alloys imports, reaching 407,000 tonnes in May 2023, marking an 8.53 per cent rise from April's 375,000 tonnes, as reported by the US Census Bureau. This trend follows a drop in February but shows a year-to-date growth. Notably, Australia is emerging as a significant supplier, exporting 59,100 tonnes to the US in May, a substantial increase from earlier months. Despite this growth, Canada remains the largest supplier with a slight month-on-month decrease in May.
