DEWA hands out $26mln contracts for supply of aluminium & copper cables

<p>Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has given contracts to a number of national companies. The contracts worth $25.9m (AED95m)&nbsp;involve the delivery of 1,290km of low-voltage cables for household connections. The deal covers the supply of aluminium and copper cables in order to expand electricity distribution networks across Dubai.</p> <p><img style="vertical-align: middle; display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" src="http://www.alcircle.com/uploads/images/1d09632b413ab9c2a870a4c179153a52--vietnam-cable.jpg" alt="news" width="400" height="300" /></p> <p>The contracts are part of company&rsquo;s efforts to provide the most reliable and efficient electricity services. The supply of aluminium and copper cables is expected to be completed by April 2018.</p> <p>HE Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, managing director and chief executive officer of&nbsp;DEWA, said: &ldquo;DEWA is proactively implementing vital development projects, especially infrastructure, to achieve sustainable development and happiness in Dubai, for generations to come.&rdquo;</p> <p>{googleAdsense}</p> <p>The contracts will manage the constant demand for electricity and the needs of ambitious urban, economic and social projects.</p> <p>He added: &ldquo;It also aims to establish Dubai&rsquo;s leading position in the region, as an example of an effective and efficient infrastructure for electricity networks. These cables will be used in several projects at DEWA, and will contribute to increasing the capacity of efficiency and reliability of electricity distribution in Dubai, to ensure a continuous and stable supply of electricity to customers.&rdquo;</p>
