This facility is likely to meet India’s increasing demand for aluminium cans for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, in line with the shift in consumer preferences and sustainability goals.

The facility will incorporate advanced manufacturing technologies and adhere to global sustainability standards, representing Crown Holdings’ commitment to environmentally responsible packaging solutions.

Also, the project will be backed by long-term customer commitments, including a partnership with United Breweries Limited (UBL), part of Heineken N.V., reflecting strong demand fundamentals.

“This investment represents an important step in Crown’s expansion into India, a market characterised by strong structural growth, evolving consumer trends, and increasing demand for sustainable packaging,” said Mark Ketcheson, President of Crown’s Europe, Middle East and Africa Division.

Vivek Gupta, Managing Director, United Breweries Limited, stated that the demand for cans in India will continue to grow strongly, driven by evolving consumer preferences and the increasing adoption of premium and convenient formats. He also noted that strengthening supply would be key to unlocking the full opportunity.

He further added that their partnership with Crown brings in global expertise and scale and also marks a significant step in supporting its portfolio across brands such as Kingfisher and Heineken® as it scales with this demand.
