
According to Shanghai Metals Market, Shandong Weiqiao Group reduced its prebaked anode purchasing prices by RMB 140 per tonne for February after it cut prices for January by RMB 1300 per tonne. This brought February’s purchasing prices to RMB 3,320 per tonne in cash and RMB 3,355 per tonne on acceptance.
The prebaked anode price in east China market, however, remained the same at RMB 3,495 per tonne, as on January 30, 2019. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 3,395 per tonne and RMB 3,595 per tonne. The pre-baked anode price in the east China hovered at this price throughout the month of January, with no intermittent drops or rises.

On the other hand, the A00 aluminium ingot price rose today, January 30, by RMB 70 per tonne to stand at RMB 13,360 per tonne, SMM found. The price today increased after a drop yesterday from RMB 13,410 per tonne to RMB 13,290 per tonne. The average prices today are expected to range between RMB 13,340 per tonne and RMB 13,380 per tonne, with spot discounts to settle at RMB 90 per tonne to RMB 50 per tonne.

In the east China market (Wuxi and Hangzhou), the ingot prices increased by RMB 80 per tonne from RMB 13,295 per tonne to RMB 13,375 per tonne; while in the south and north, the prices grew by RMB 50 per tonne and RMB 70 per tonne to stand at RMB 13,400 per tonne and RMB 13,370 per tonne, respectively.
Like the pre-baked anode, other input costs like aluminium fluoride and cryolite also registered no change and still hovering at RMB 12,100 per tonne and RMB 6,400 per tonne. The price of aluminium powder, however, rose from RMB 16.70 per kg to RMB 16.80 per kg. The average prices are expected to be at RMB 16.70 per kg to RMB 16.90 per kg.
