The primary aluminium spot market in China seems to be merry for the sellers on the auspicious occasion of Merry Christmas. The A00 aluminium ingot price has climbed RMB 10 per tonne on December 25, to clock at RMB 13,630 per tonne, Shanghai Metals Market found. This marks the third consecutive rise since December 21. The first rise was from RMB 13,510 per tonne to RMB 13,560 per tonne and then to RMB 13,620 per tonne and RMB 13,630 per tonne. The average prices today are expected to range between RMB 13,610 per tonne and RMB 13,650 per tonne, with spot discounts to settle at RMB 90 per tonne to RMB 50 per tonne.
{alcircleadd}In the east, Wuxi, the price has recorded a jump by RMB 20 per tonne to RMB 13,625 per tonne while in Hangzhou,, the price has registered a growth of RMB 25 per tonne to RMB 13,650 per tonne. The price in the north market has also jumped by RMB 25 per tonne but hovering at RMB 13,615 per tonne. The price in the south, however, has declined by RMB 10 per tonne and hovering at RMB 13,790 per tonne.
As far as the input costs are concerned, alumina spot price has shown no change today from RMB 3005 per tonne after declining from RMB 3013 per tonne on December 24. In the east, the alumina price is at RMB 3030 per tonne since December 13 while in the central, the price is at RMB 3020 per tonne. In the north and south, the prices are at RMB 2980 per tonne and RMB 3025 per tonne, respectively.
Other raw material prices like bauxite, the pre-baked anode, aluminium fluoride, and aluminium powder have neither recorded any changes from RMB 570 per tonne, RMB 3625 per tonne, RMB 11,200 per tonne, and RMB 17 per kg, respectively.
