Thanks to light-weight, better heat conductivity, and anti-corrosive properties for which the demand for aluminium alloy wheels has been growing uninterruptedly. According to a report, the global automotive aluminium alloy wheels market size is expected to reach US$ 15, 400 million by 2025 from US$ 12,700 million in 2017, at a CAGR of 2.4 per cent during the forecast period.
According to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, China’s aluminium alloy wheels export from January to August saw a year-on-year hike by 5.9 per cent to stand at 641,700 tonnes. This means China had exported 603,840 tonnes of aluminium alloy wheels in the same period last year.
Consequently, China’s aluminium alloy wheels export value increased during the same period from US$ 2766 million in 2017 to US$ 3108 million this year. This indicates that the country saw a year-on-year growth in its export value from January to August by about 11 per cent. Export prices averaged US$ 4.84/Kg during the first eight months this year, as per the data showed by CAAM.
In August as well, exports volume rose from China by 6.9 per cent from a year ago and came in at 86,700 tonnes. The value gained 10.4 per cent and amounted to US$ 413 million, compared to US$ 370 million in the contemporary period last year. Export prices were thus, averaged at US$ 4.77/kg, according to CAAM data.
