China’s alumina spot price heightens by 4.4% Y-o-Y; SMM A00 aluminium ingot price drops RMB80/t today

The average alumina spot price in China has soared by RMB 4 per tonne, halting at RMB 2,965 per tonne, while the price of alumina in Shandong, Henan, Shanxi and Guizhou have all escalated by RMB 5 per tonne. The price of alumina in Shandong stopped at RMB 2,925 per tonne; in Henan, it anchored at RMB 2,960 per tonne; in Shanxi, it marked RMB 2,985 per tonne, and lastly, in Guizhou, it reached RMB 2,945 per tonne.

Last year, on October 10, the alumina price was RMB 2,840 per tonne, which makes it evident that there has been a Year-on-Year growth of RMB 125 per tonne or 4.4 per cent.

The CIF index of import Bauxite price has increased by RMB 0.43 per tonne to close at RMB 500.46 per tonne.

On October 10, the Shanghai Metals Market witnessed a sluggish trend in aluminium prices all over China, with the SMM A00 aluminium ingot price deflecting RMB 80 per tonne to officially close at RMB 19,510 per tonne. The average prices have ranged between RMB 19,490 per tonne and RMB 19,530 per tonne.

After remaining closed from September 29 to October 8 for the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays, China’s metal market resumed with a sluggish attitude. There has been a drop of RMB 260 per tonne or 1.31 per cent if the closing price of September 28 and the official price for October 9 are considered.

China’s central provinces have also shown a similar sentiment, with the highest price fall of RMB 110 per tonne marked in Tianjin, where the aluminium price stood at RMB 19,500 per tonne. In Gongyi, Hangzhou and Linyi, the aluminium prices settled at RMB 19,370 per tonne, RMB 19,480 per tonne and RMB 19,510 per tonne, with a uniform loss of RMB 100 per tonne. The aluminium prices in Wuxi and Chongqing both stooped down by RMB 90 per tonne to rest at RMB 19,490 per tonne and RMB 19,500 per tonne. Meanwhile, in Foshan, the aluminium price recorded a slump of RMB 50 per tonne to stop at RMB 19,230 per tonne, and the aluminium price in Shenyang shed RMB 60 per tonne to settle down at RMB 19,480 per tonne.

The price of low-carbon aluminium in China has negated RMB 40 per tonne to officiate at RMB 20,031 per tonne.

The high-purity aluminium price (99.99%) and the high-purity aluminium price (99.996%) have both plummeted by RMB 100 per tonne to close at RMB 27,100 per tonne and RMB 28,100 per tonne, respectively.

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) and the price of aluminium alloy (ADC12) have dived by RMB 50 per tonne to close at RMB 20,200 per tonne and RMB 19,650 per tonne, respectively. The price of aluminium alloy (A360) has gone down the graph by RMB 100 per tonne to rest at RMB 20,400 per tonne.

The price of aluminium powder in China has dipped by RMB 0.10 per kg to stop at RMB 21.60 per kg, with average prices ranging between RMB 21.50 per kg and RMB 21.70 per kg.
