China’s A00 aluminium ingot price marks US$120/t accelerated growth; Alumina spot price bends by RMB3/t

The Shanghai Metal Market has seen RMB 120 per tonne augmentation in the aluminium spot price, stopping at RMB 18,400 per tonne today, June 1. The average aluminium price trends are between RMB 18,380 per tonne and RMB 18,420 per tonne. The premium prices have ranged around RMB 60 or 20 per tonne.

The central provinces in China all have witnessed increasing aluminium prices today, with only one exception in Shenyang, where it stood at RMB 18,320 per tonne as on May 31, recording no change. Other than that, Foshan and Tianjin have experienced the biggest growth of RMB 150 per tonne, officially closing at RMB 18,500 per tonne and RMB 18,430 per tonne, respectively. Next, in Wuxi, the aluminium spot price has heightened by RMB 130 per tonne, resting at RMB 18,380 per tonne. In Hangzhou and Chongqing, the aluminium prices have both risen by RMB 120 per tonne, closing at RMB 18,400 per tonne each. In Gongyi, the aluminium price has shot up by RMB 100 per tonne, stopping at RMB 18,220 per tonne. Lastly, in Linyi, there was a double-digit increase of RMB 40 per tonne, with the aluminium spot price closing at RMB 18,370 per tonne.

The price of low-carbon aluminium in China has gained RMB 165 per tonne to officially close at RMB 19,108 per tonne.

The high-purity aluminium (99.99%) price and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) price have escalated by RMB 100 per tonne, halting at RMB 26.100 per tonne and RMB 27,100 per tonne, respectively.

The average alumina spot price in China has dropped by RMB 3 per tonne to RMB 2,848 per tonne, while the alumina prices in Shandong and Shanxi have dived by RMB 5 per tonne, settling down at RMB 2,840 per tonne and RMB 2,835 per tonne. The Australian alumina FOB price has slumped by RMB 35.48 per tonne, closing at RMB 2,377.33 per tonne.  

The prices of aluminium alloy (A356) and aluminium alloy (A360) have ascended by RMB 100 per tonne, closing at RMB 19,150 per tonne and RMB 19,500 per tonne.

Sustainability

The price of aluminium powder has earned RMB 0.10 per kg, recording RMB 20.10 per kg on the SMM aluminium price chart, with average prices hovering between RMB 20 per kg and RMB 20.20 per kg.
