China’s A00 aluminium ingot price descends by RMB10/t on March 9; Eight provinces face aluminium price drop

A00 aluminium ingot price has decreased by RMB 10 per tonne, officially closing at RMB 18,460 per tonne, as the Shanghai Metals Market recorded on March 9. The average prices are expected to range between RMB 18,440 per tonne and RMB 18,480 per tonne, with spot contracts trading at discount prices of RMB 70 per tonne and RMB 30 per tonne.

The eight Chinese provinces have witnessed a descending course in aluminium prices today, standing still only in Foshan at RMB 18,490 per tonne. Other than that, Gongyi, Chongqing, Tianjin and Linyi all have marked an RMB 30 per tonne drop in aluminium prices. The aluminium price in Gongyi stands at RMB 18,390 per tonne; in Chongqing, it is RMB 18,510 per tonne, whereas, in Tianjin and Linyi both, the aluminium prices have halted at RMB 18,490 per tonne. The aluminium prices in Wuxi and Hangzhou have shed RMB 20 per tonne, officially stopping at RMB 18,450 per tonne and RMB 18,470 per tonne, respectively. Lastly, Shenyang's aluminium price has decreased by RMB 10 per tonne to rest at RMB 18,460 per tonne.

The low carbon aluminium price has not changed today, sticking at RMB 19,072 per tonne.

The prices of high-purity aluminium (99.99%) and high-purity aluminium (99.996%) have both stayed intact at RMB 26,200 per tonne and RMB 27,400 per tonne, like the day before.

The price of aluminium alloy (A356) has refrained from making any leap for better or for worse, staying stagnant at RMB 19,500 per tonne.

The price of caustic soda (32% concentration) in Henan plummeted by RMB 650 per tonne on March 8, officially closing at RMB 2,900 per tonne. This can be considered to be an extremely sudden drop in the caustic soda price.

The aluminium powder price in China also stood stoic at RMB 20.20 per kg, with no measurable change today.
