The HiPurA process developed by ChemX is supposed to produce HPA using substantially lower levels of energy and reagent, ultimately decreasing the operational costs and capital expenditure than most contemporary producers.

The purpose of the plant will be to enhance the methodologies and controls under a relentless operational scale producing 99.99 per cent concentrated HPA regularly. The plant is also cooperative as it offers samples of freshly constituted HPA for customer qualification tests.

The COO of ChemX, Peter Lee, exclaimed that commissioning and running the HiPurA HPA process under uninterrupted operations will be a breakthrough for the industry.

“The micro plant operation will allow the company to optimise the current pre-feasibility study (PFS) and achieve a major competitive step forward by providing product samples to potential customers. Successful commissioning will also demonstrate the potential to offer customers a scalable, modular plant to supply HPA with significantly shorter plant construction times to feed directly into their lithium-ion battery supply chain,” Mr Lee added.

ChemX will continue with the PFS till the third quarter of 2022, expanding its completion to conclude these work streams.

ChemX has recognised infinite opportunities to amend and modify the process design, scale and machinery during the PFS process.

Also, the firm validated that the work streams will foster positive previews concerning capital reduction and lowering other operating costs.
