Me & the Bees Lemonade, a trailblazer in sustainable beverage production and a passionate advocate for pollinator protection, is celebrating its 15th anniversary with a sustainable packaging transformation. The company is making the shift from glass bottles to 100 per cent recyclable, sleek 12-ounce aluminium cans for its line of all-natural lemonades. Cheers to 15 years of success! Same great taste, now in convenient, sustainable packaging for on-the-go enjoyment.
Royal mission with a sustainable strategy
Founded with a mission to help save the bees, Me & the Bees has consistently championed sustainability. This packaging transition further enhances the brand's environmental commitment by moving from an already eco-conscious option to an even more sustainable one with aluminium cans.
"We're buzzing with excitement about a brighter, more sustainable future," said Mikaila Ulmer, Founder and CEO of Me & the Bees Lemonade. "As a member of Gen Z, this new packaging choice perfectly aligns with our growing consumer preferences for contributing to a circular economy because aluminium is the most recycled beverage packaging material in the U.S."
100% recyclable aluminium cans
With its sleek new packaging, all five Me & the Bees Lemonade flavours—Classic, Prickly Pear, Black Cherry, Passion Fruit, and Very Berry—will continue to deliver the same great taste and wholesome qualities that loyal "bee-livers" have come to love, but in a new and sleek aluminium cans packaging.
The sleek new recyclable cans offer greater convenience for on-the-go enjoyment, making them perfect for picnics, poolside lounging, outdoor festivals, travelling, or relaxing at home. Aluminium cans also have a much smaller carbon footprint than glass, as they require less energy to produce, recycle, and transport. Along with these environmental advantages, switching to 100 per cent recyclable aluminium helps Me & the Bees cut costs throughout its supply chain, enabling the brand to pass savings to retailers and consumers while maintaining premium quality.
Packaging is the key component
"Packaging design is a key component of our brand strategy, but it is not just about aesthetics but also about supporting our mission and serving as a powerful tool to influence purchasing decisions and gain a competitive edge. Our new sleek cans, with their stunning design, reinforce our captivating brand narrative and offer unparalleled convenience and flexibility across all channels. From in-store to online, home delivery to click and collect, our partners can seamlessly integrate the new packaging into their omnichannel fulfilment options," said D'Andra Ulmer, CMO of Me & the Bees Lemonade.
As a small business, every customer matters, and Me & the Bees expresses its gratitude to its partners—such as Compass, Delaware North, H-E-B, KeHe, Sodexo, Target, The Fresh Market, UNFI, Whole Foods Market, and World Market—for their enthusiastic support of the packaging transition. Their commitment helps the brand further its mission of being a positive force for good.
