Cash Price of Indian Aluminum Drops 3.1%

On Jan. 15, 2013, the day’s biggest mover on our aluminum price index was the Indian aluminum cash price, which saw a 3.1 percent decline.
The LME cash price of primary aluminum closed at $2,062 per metric ton. Following a couple days of improvement, prices fell by 0.7 percent. The LME aluminum 3-month price closed at $2,102 per metric ton. Following a couple days of improvement, the metal’s price weakened by 0.7 percent as well.
Chinese aluminum closed mixed on Tuesday. After remaining flat for three days, the price of Chinese aluminum billet fell 0.7 percent yesterday. The Chinese aluminum cash price fell 0.6 percent.
Meanwhile, the price of Chinese aluminum scrap held steady. The price of Chinese aluminum bar remained essentially flat.
