Carl Friedrik takes aluminium luggage range beyond carry-ons with new Check-in at $1,095

Premium luggage brand Carl Friedrik has expanded its aluminium collection with the launch of the aluminium Check-in, a 76-litre suitcase designed for longer trips and international travel.

Priced at USD 1,095, the new suitcase features a hard-wearing anodized aluminium shell, TSA-approved combination locks, and 360-degree ball-bearing wheels designed for smooth movement.

The Check-in model follows the launch of the smaller aluminium Carry-On in March. According to the source, the Carry-On sold out within eight weeks, prompting Carl Friedrik to expand the aluminium range with a larger case.

The new suitcase retains several features from its smaller counterpart while adding capacity for travelers who need more space. It is currently available in silver with black, cognac, or chocolate trim.

"Not every itinerary can be conquered with a cabin-sized case," said Niklas Oppermann, Co-founder and CEO of Carl Friedrik.

"This larger model is our answer to the reality of extended transit, giving seasoned globetrotters the extra space they need without compromising on the collection's refined Golden Age of Travel aesthetic," he added.

Maneuverability is a major feature of the Check-in. Its 360-degree rotating wheels were developed in collaboration with Japanese manufacturer Honimo, while a multi-stage rolling system allows travelers to adjust the handle height.

The suitcase is also built to withstand the handling associated with checked baggage. Steel-reinforced corners and hinges are designed to improve impact resistance, while vegetable-tanned leather is used on the handles and around the aluminium shell.

Inside, Carl Friedrik has added features aimed at helping travelers organize larger loads. The case includes a zipped garment compartment, compression pad, and straps to keep clothing and other belongings secure during transit.

The aluminium construction is positioned as a combination of durability and premium design. The company also offers a lifetime warranty, adding to the product's appeal for frequent travelers seeking a long-term luggage option.
