EDITED BY : 2MINS READ

Australia-based packaged water company Billy has taken its sustainability game to a new level with the newly launched 100 per cent natural spring water in aluminium cans. The new Australian spring water brand, hailing from the pristine springs of Mt Buninyong, Victoria, is on a mission to replace plastic with sustainable and recyclable metal like aluminium.

“The bold, eye-catching design ensures that Billy stands out, making it the perfect choice for those who are serious about hydration and environmental stewardship,” said Billy.

Crafted in Australia, Billy’s durable, recyclable aluminium cans are designed to complement the freshness of the water they hold. Available in both still and sparkling varieties, Billy promises that water has never looked or tasted better.

Aluminium beverage cans have been at the forefront in terms of realising the complete recycling potential of the metal, across the world. A 500ml can of Billy is advertised as supplying 25 per cent of a person’s daily recommended water intake. Billy Water is available in both Still and Sparkling varieties and can be purchased for $4 per can.

“In a bold move to tackle the environmental impact of single-use plastics, Billy is introducing its water in recyclable aluminium cans. With a mission to protect Australia’s beaches, billabongs, and bays, Billy is set to revolutionise the way we think about packaged water,” added Billy.

Apart from packing carbonated soft drinks and beer, aluminium cans are now used for various other beverages, including water, hard seltzers, etc. As per AL Circle’s “Global Aluminium Industry Outlook 2024,” globally, the consumption of aluminium cans by beer and soda is around 180 billion cans per annum. In 2020, global aluminium beverage can production reached around 360 billion units and is projected to surge to over 430 billion units by 2024.

Many aluminium producers now offer green aluminium products, which contain more recycled aluminium content and are produced using clean energy. Many recycling companies are increasing their capacities and adopting the best available technologies.
