Mount Ridley Mines has reported 94.9 per cent gallium recovery from a third-party bauxite sample using its patent-pending Selectro process, alongside recoveries of 92 per cent aluminium and 97 per cent iron in a single low-temperature leach. The test also produced a silica-rich residue instead of conventional red mud, highlighting the technology’s potential to recover multiple metals from bauxite through one processing route. The sample was provided by Australian Silica Quartz Group from its Darling Range bauxite project in Western Australia. It comprised material collected from 16 vacuum drill samples across four holes at the Athena and Ceres prospects. The Government of India is evaluating a drive to unlock about 500 mineral blocks through an open and transparent auction by repealing Section 10A2 (b) of MMDR Act under the ‘Self-reliant India” vision. The Ministry of Mines, Govt. of India has projected to auction 5-6 mineral blocks, including bauxite mines, in the central state of India, Madhya Pradesh over the next three months, as per a government official. However, the 11 blocks that were up for sale by the state recently, received a response for only five blocks. The remaining six mines were resulted unresponsive from bidders. According to a recent report, Lindian Resources has spotted a readily mineable maiden resource with high alumina grade for the Bouba Plateaux at its Gaoual Bauixte Project in Guinea. The resource, first estimated by Cube Consulting, was based on 874 metres of drilling from 131 shallow holes.
