Bauxite exports from Guinea's CBG have been suspended due to further damage to the machine used to load boats, company and government officials said on Sunday. The suspension follows a previous accident on a conveyor belt last month, which froze exports from the world's top supplier of the aluminum ore for ten days. Exports had restarted on Sept. 20 after the earlier incident. CBG, a joint-venture between Alcoa, Rio Tinto and the Guinean government, is the world's largest bauxite exporter company with annual shipments of around 13 million tonnes. India's production of minerals fell by 5.99 per cent in August vis-a-vis the previous month and was valued at Rs 13,378 crore, the government said today. "The total value of mineral production (excluding atomic and minor minerals) in the country during August, 2011, was Rs 13,378 crore," an official statement said. Rio Tinto (RIO: News ,RIO.L: News ) reported third quarter global iron ore production of 64 million tonnes, or 50 million tonnes attributable, up five percent on the third quarter of 2010. Monax Mining has commenced the maiden drilling program at its Pretender Creek Bauxite project in Northern Queensland to test surface bauxite. Monax has an exploration portfolio of three tenements covering 1,198 square kilometres within the Cape York Peninsula. The 180 hole program will test three zones of known surface bauxite. Monax has previously mapped and sampled bauxite mineralisation within its three tenements, with rock chip sample grades of up to 44.5% aluminium oxide.
