The Greek economy continues to face significant problems, including high unemployment levels, an inefficient public sector bureaucracy, tax evasion, corruption, and low global competitiveness, though Greece's GDP growth has also, as an average, since the early 1990s were higher than the EU average.
In between all these issues, Bauxite import has shown some positive growth in Greece and the figures show a constant rise from 2017-20, with a total volume in the period accounted to 3.05 million tonnes, which amounted to $130.2 million.
The economy of Greece mainly revolves around the service sector (80.6%) and industry (16%), while agriculture made up an estimated 3.4% of the national economic output in 2012. Important Greek industries include tourism and shipping.
In 2017 the bauxite import was 536951 tonnes and in 2018 the import was 715009 tonnes, exceeded the previous year by adding 178,058 tonnes, reflecting a straight growth of 24.90%.
The bauxite import in the year 2019 has even shown a positive trend, posted 824295 tonnes, amounting to $37.5 million. If compared to the preceding year there is a rise of 109,286 tonnes of bauxite import, a 15.28% growth.
The 2020 bauxite import analysis is also marching positive with 983325 tonnes, amounting to $44.5 million, an uprise of 19.29%, surplus from the previous year accounted for 159,030 tonnes.
