Ball Aluminum Cup™ honoured with 2022 Edison Award for its sustainable solutions

The Ball Aluminum Cup™ was recognised a Gold winner by the 2022 Edison Awards on Monday, April 25, for providing customers with sustainable solutions. The renowned Edison Awards, which were established in 1987, reward and nurture invention and innovators that have a beneficial influence on the globe.

Receiving an Edison Award has become one of the most prestigious honours in the field of innovation. Expert reviewers from all over the world chose the Ball Aluminum Cup as the winner after weighing in on more than 350 nominees.

The lightweight aluminium cups, now available in multiple sizes, were designed by Ball, a leading global provider of infinitely recyclable aluminium beverage packaging, to bring beverage packaging circularity to sports and entertainment venues in response to growing consumer preference for more sustainable products.

Due to its versatile nature, aluminium is considered to be one of the most environment friendly and lucrative materials. From beverage packaging to aluminium cans and cup, everything can be easily recycled to reuse. Around 75 percent of all aluminium manufactured is still in use today and can be easily recycled and return to the store shelf within 60 days. The Ball Aluminum Cup now has 90% recycled content, the greatest proportion of recycled content of any beverage package in its category.
