
Bahrain exported 38,300 tonnes of crude metals and alloys to the US in the first five months of 2020, from 63,500 tonnes exported in the first five months of 2019. This records a decrease of 40% or 25,200 tonnes year-on-year, according to the latest Mineral Industry Survey report from US Geological Survey.

In May 2020, exports reduced by 12.4% or 1,600 tonnes year-on-year. Exports to the US stood at 11,300 tonnes as compared to 12,900 tonnes in May 2019. On a month-on-month comparison, crude metals and alloys export climbed by 90% from 5,940 tonnes.
Exports of aluminium semi-finished products (plates, sheets, bars, etc.) to the US stood at 16,500 tonnes in January-May 2020, a decline of 44.26% from 29,600 tonnes in January-May 2019.
In May 2020, exports of these products stood 78% lower than the same period last year. Semi-finished exports to the US came in at 2,030 tonnes in May. On a month-on-month comparison, exports declined 50% from 4,080 tonnes.
