Azerbaijan’s aluminium sector reported a robust export growth chart during the first half (H1) of 2026. Overseas shipments of aluminium and aluminium products generated USD 141.52 million, which, as per the country’s State Customs Committee, marks a 40 per cent year-on-year increase.
{alcircleadd}Between January and June 2026, the country exported 40,435.29 tonnes of aluminium and aluminium products, up by 5,210 tonnes or 14.7 per cent Y-o-Y from 35,224.84 tonnes recorded during the corresponding period last year.

The higher shipment volume brought about an additional USD 40.53 million in export revenue compared Y-o-Y with H1 2025, pointing to a stronger demand for Azerbaijani aluminium products in international markets.
Azerbaijan’s total foreign trade turnover reached USD 24.66 billion in H1 2026, indicating a modest 1.1 per cent Y-o-Y increase.
Exports stood at USD 16.32 billion, rising 26.7 per cent, while imports declined 27.6 per cent to USD 8.34 billion, resulting in a stronger overall trade balance during the reporting period.
Aluminium and aluminium products accounted for 2.5 per cent of Azerbaijan’s non-oil exports and 0.8 per cent of the country’s total exports during the six-month period, reinforcing the sector’s growing contribution to export diversification.
