Rio Tinto aims to reduce carbon emission from its marine fleet, teams up with British Petroleum on a sustainable bio fuel trial
Rio Tinto and British Petroleum (bp) have agreed to collaborate on a one-year biofuel trial to assist Rio Tinto's marine fleet to reduce carbon emissions. British Petroleum will supply marine biofuel to Rio Tinto as part of the trial for approximately 12 months. The findings from the trial will be used to research strategies to minimise carbon emissions from its marine fleet and shape its future biofuel strategy. The fuel will be tested on Rio Tinto’s RTM Tasman vessel on a mix of Transatlantic and Atlantic-Pacific itineraries. This will be one of the longest-duration marine biofuel trials to date. Wheels India aims to expand its aluminium wheels business, plans to invest INR 155 crore in FY23
Headquartered in Chennai, Wheels India, one of the largest steel wheel manufacturers in India, has planned to invest around INR 155 crore in the current fiscal year (2022-2023) to expand its aluminium wheels business and construction equipment. US aluminium scrap exports to India in February’22 shows M-o-M downfall of 300 tonnes
In February 2022, the United States exported 11,600 tonnes of aluminium scrap to India, which on an M-o-M scale heightened by 300 tonnes or 2.65 percent from 11,300 tonnes in January 2022. As per the USGS data, the amount in January had nosedived by 31,000 tonnes or 73.28 percent from 42,300 tonnes in December 2021. On a Y-o-Y comparison, the amount had plunged by 15,600 tonnes or 57.35 percent from 27,200 tonnes in February 2021. In 2021, a total of 442,000 tonnes of aluminium scrap was exported to India from the United States. Hydro plans to invest NOK 320 million in Karmøy aluminium smelter
On May 19, Hydro reported that it is planning an investment of NOK 320 million in Karmøy aluminium smelter. The plant's 22 kV switchgear will be replaced as part of this investment. The project will begin in the fourth quarter of 2022 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2024. Hong Leong Investment Bank Bhd (HLIB) has maintained its “buy” rating on Press Metal Aluminium Holdings (PMetal) at RM5.28, with a lower target price of RM7.59 (down from RM7.71).
