In February 2022, the United States imported 4,350 tonnes of aluminium plates, sheets and bars from Turkey, found the US Geological Survey (USGS). On a month-on-month basis, a hike of 330 tonnes or 8.20 per cent was witnessed from 4,020 tonnes in January 2022, which went on to decline by 70 tonnes or 1.71 per cent from 4,090 tonnes in December 2021. Festo, a leading German industrial control and automation firm headquartered in Esslingen am Neckar, is providing PM Metal with new welding cells made up of aluminium as a retrofit to use in the existing systems.
