China’s daily average aluminium output hit record high in June, according to Reuters Calculations
According to Reuters’ calculations, China’s daily average aluminium output hit record levels in June and pegged at 99,000 tonnes, up from 96,000 tonnes in May and also higher than the previous record levels of around 98,400 tonnes in December 2018. But despite an increase in daily production, the total production in the entire month of June totalled slightly lower than the previous month, according to the data from the National Bureau of Statistics. The average spot price of alumina has further recorded a decline across China by RMB 25 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,582 per tonne, found Shanghai Metals Market. China Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure Promotion Alliance data on Wednesday, July 10, shows that by the end of June 2019, China had over 1 million charging piles or power ports for electric vehicles, up 69.3 per cent year on year. Madison County to receive new 95-gallon carts from RANA for collecting aluminium and metal cans
Madison County in Illinois is expected to go greener soon as it is about to receive new carts from the Recycling Alliance of North Alabama (RANA) for expanding recycling service in the area. China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) data shows that China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sales in June recorded month-on-month growth by 38.7 per cent and year-on-year by 98.7 per cent to stand at 134,000 units. In the previous month as well, China’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sales had registered a year-on-year rise by 5.4 per cent to come in at 97,000 units. This had brought the total sales of new energy vehicles during January-May stood at 442,000 units, up 58 per cent from the same period last year. Sainsbury’s to roll out reverse vending recycling scheme to collect plastic bottles and aluminium cans
The supermarket giant Sainsbury’s at its Braehead store in Glasgow is reportedly carrying out trials for its reverse vending recycling scheme, which allows customers to deposit plastic bottles of any size up to 3 litres and aluminium drink cans in a machine in exchange for a coupon worth £5 per item towards their shopping.
