South America’s alumina production grows 2% YoY in January 2021; Output in North America slips by 1,000 tonnes
In South America, alumina production in January 2021 stood at 1.069 million tonnes, reflecting a month-on-month downfall of 3.17 per cent, according to the data shown by the International Aluminium Institute. In December 2020, South America produced 1.104 million tonnes of alumina – an increase of 12.65 per cent from 980,000 tonnes in November. On a year-on-year calculation, South America’s alumina output stood 2.10 per cent higher than 1.047 million tonnes. On Tuesday, March 2, the United States Commerce Department levied final anti-dumping duties on common alloy aluminium sheet import from 18 countries, including up to 242.8 per cent on Germany and 4.83 per cent on Bahrain. Capral Aluminium reports FY2020 annual turnover at $432 million; Sales volumes record 7.6% growth
Australia-based aluminium extruded product manufacturing company Capral Aluminium has reported its annual turnover for the 12 months of 2020 ended on December 31 at $432 million. Trading EBITDA stood at $19.7 million compared to $11 million in FY2019. For the second half of FY2020, Capral reported trading EBITDA of $13.9 million, attributing to strong sales performance, improved operating leverage, and sales realised from business initiatives.
