ASI certifies Yunnan Yongshun Aluminium's flat alloy ingot facility against Performance Standard Certification

Aluminium Stewardship Initiative announced today, on March 2, 2021, that it successfully certified Yunnan Yongshun Aluminium Co., Ltd. against Performance Standard Certification for remelting/refining and semi-fabrication activities. The facility’s operations include smelting, casting, and sawing processes for manufacturing mid-to-high end aluminium alloy flat ingots, having an annual production capacity of 150,000 tonnes.

The operation is a joint venture between Yongxin Aluminium Co., Ltd. of Yunnan Aluminium Group and Xiamen Xiashun Aluminium Foil Co., Ltd., which is also an ASI Member.

On receiving the ASI certification, General Manager of Yunnan Yongshun Aluminium Co., Ltd., Li Shu, said: “We are pleased that Yunnan Yongshun Aluminium Co., Ltd. has successfully passed ASI's Performance Standard Certification. The achievement of this Performance Standard Certification signifies that Yunnan Yongshun Aluminium Co., Ltd. has followed the steps of its shareholder Xiamen Xiashun Aluminium Foil Co., Ltd. and has always maintained close cooperation with ASI in promoting environmental protection, corporate governance, and human rights protection to maximize aluminium's contribution to sustainable society, and has encouraged its other shareholder Yunnan Yongxin Aluminium Co., Ltd. to promote responsible production, responsible procurement, and corporate governance of aluminium, to jointly build a green, clean, low-carbon, and environmentally friendly whole industry chain. Yunnan Yongshun Aluminium Co., Ltd. strives to build its products into a high-end brand of aluminium alloy flat ingot with low carbon and environmental protection, and become a responsible producer and supplier of high-end aluminium alloy products.”

The independent, third-party audit of the Yunnan Yongshun Aluminium Co., Ltd. facility was carried out by SGS-CSTC Standards Technical Services.
