According to the US Census Bureau, the United States imported 28,200 tonnes of aluminium crude metals and alloys from the United Arab Emirates in July 2021. That was sharply down by 8,500 tonnes or 23.16 per cent from 36,700 tonnes in June 2021. In May, the US imports stood at 32,800 tonnes, meaning the imports in June recorded a month-on-month rise of 3,900 tonnes in June. According to the Shanghai Metals Market, China’s alumina production stood at 6.20 million tonnes in September 2021 (30 days), including 5.99 million tonnes of metallurgical grade alumina. On a month-on-month calculation, the production was down by 2.97 per cent from 6.39 million tonnes. But on a year-on-year basis, the output stood 4.91 per cent higher than 5.91 million tonnes.
