Press Metal has successfully obtained ASI Performance Standard V3 (2022) Certification for its subsidiary, Press Metal Sarawak Sdn Bhd, in Sarawak, Malaysia. This achievement comes after the prior certification of another subsidiary, Press Metal Bintulu Sdn Bhd, marking it as the inaugural smelting facility in Southeast Asia to receive ASI Performance Standard Certification in October 2022.

Operating within a region powered primarily by hydroelectric sources, the smelting plant boasts an annual production capacity of 120,000 metric tonnes of aluminium. The ASI Certification program, established through a comprehensive multi-stakeholder consultation process, is the sole voluntary sustainability standard initiative for the entire aluminium value chain.
