According to FocusEconomics, the economic conditions of Angola remained challenging in Q1 2021, with GDP contracting 3.4% Y-o-Y amid the persistent impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. GDP is projected to bounce back to growth this year: The global vaccine rollout and the subsequent easing of restrictions should unchain pent-up demand.
The Southern African nation, Angola during 2018-20 imported 2078 tonnes of aluminium household articles and the expenditure that occurred for the importation was accounted for $9.48 million.
In 2018, the import of household articles for Angola was recorded at 210 tonnes of aluminium household articles and the foreign exchange expended was $2.09 million, whereas, in 2019, the import volume revealed a sharp rise by 1439 tonnes, as the import demand escalated by 585.23% and the expenditure was $5.47 million.
Angola’s import of aluminium household articles in 2020 was registered with a downfall of 235.43%, as the import volume fell to 429 tonnes and the expenditure also dropped to $1.92 million.
The import for 2021 is analysed with growth by 17.24%, as the import volume is expected to remain at 503 tonnes and the expenditure to stand at $1.98 million.
Angola’s major trading destinations for the importation of aluminium household articles are China, Portugal, UAE, USA, etc.
