Analyst raises earnings forecast for Ball Corporation

Equities research analysts at Zacks Research have raised their Q4 2026 earnings per share (EPS) as a research note issued to its investors on September 3. Zacks Research analyst Team now expect the company to earn USD 1.03 per share for the quarter, up from the previous estimate of USD 0.99. The estimated earnings for Ball for this current year are USD 3.48 per share. Zacks Research analyst Team have also issued estimated earnings of USD 4.43 EPS for the company in FY2027.

On August 5, Ball released its earnings results, where the company reported USD 0.90 earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter. Whereas the estimation of the topping analysts' consensus remains at  USD 0.87 by USD 0.03. The company has earned a total revenue of  USD 3.34 billion for the quarter in comparison to USD 3.10 billion as estimated by the analyst. The firm possesses a total return on equity of 16.81per cent. and a net margin of 4.49 per cent. The revenue of the organisation was up to 12.8 per cent as compared to the same quarter last year. During the same period, the organisation has earned USD 0.74 Earnings Per Share (EPS). Ball has also set its FY 2025 guidance, which stands at 3.550-3.650 Earnings Per Share (EPS).

Several other analysts have also updated their reports on Ball Corporation. UBS Group increased its targeted price from USD 54 to USD 60. This has given a "neutral" rating within the report as released on July 9, Wednesday. Mizuho, on the other hand, increased its target price from USD 60 to USD 68, which gave it an "outperform" rating in a research note as released on July 15. Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) also raised its target price from USD 69 to USD 70, which gave it an "outperform" rating on August 7. In addition, Bank of America kept a "neutral" rating and set its target price to USD 66  (down from the previous price of USD 67) for the shares of Ball in a research note issued on July 9.  On July 11, Friday, Truist Financial raised its target price from USD 62 to USD 69 with a "buy" rating in its research note. Overall, out of all ratings, six analysts have rated the stock with a “buy rating”, Four suggest a “hold rating”, and one recommends a “sell” rating to the organisation.

Ball Corporation mainly focuses on providing aluminium packaging products for all kinds of beverages, various household products and personal care products within the US, Brazil and in various parts of the world. The company manufactures and sells aluminium beverage cans to the fillers of various beverages, including carbonated soft drinks, beer and other energy drinks.

According to the NYSE, Ball’s stock rose to about USD 0.47 on mid-day trading on Friday to USD 50.89. Almost 2,328,611 shares of the company were exchanged in comparison to its average volume of 2,152,727. The company possess a current ratio of 1, a quick ratio of 0.67 and a debt-to-equity ratio of 1.23. The organisation announced that its market cap is USD 13.86 billion, with a PEG ratio of 1.16, a Price-Earnings ratio stands at 26.39, and a beta of 1.06. Over the last years, the stock of the company has traded between USD 43.51 and USD 68.12 from one year to another. The company possess a moving average price for a 50-day of USD 55.55 and USD 53.22 for a 200-day moving average.

On August 5, the company reported that its Earnings Per Share (EPS) amounted to USD 0.90 for the quarter. It has exceeded its estimated amount of USD 0.87 by USD 0.03. The company reported that it has generated revenue of USD 3.34 billion, higher than the expected amount of analyst which stands to USD 3.10 billion. Ball organisation has a return on equity of 16.81 per cent, and its net margin amounted to 4.49 per cent. The revenue of the business rose to 12.8 per cent as compared to the same quarter of last year. During the same time, the overall earnings of the organisation were USD 0.74 per share. For FY 2025, the organisation expects its earnings to range between USD 3.55 and USD 3.65 per share.

Announcement of Ball dividend

The company has recently declared a quarterly dividend that would be paid on Tuesday, September 16. A dividend of USD 0.20 per share has been paid on September 2 to shareholders. This represents an annual dividend of USD 0.80 along with a yield of 1.6 per cent. The current company’s payout ratio stands at 41.45 per cent.

Buying and selling of Ball stocks

On August 28, Daniel William Fisher, has sold 3,400 shares of the company's stock in a transaction on Thursday. The stock of the company was traded at an average price of USD 51.55 and a total value of USD 175,270. After the completion of the transaction, the chairman directly owned 10,036 shares of Ball’s stock, worth USD 517,355.80. This represented a total reduction of 25.31 per cent in the ownership of the stock. The particular sale was reported in a document made with the Securities & Exchange Commission, which can be accessed through the website of the SEC. Corporate insiders hold an ownership of 0.57 per cent of the shares within the company.

Inflows and Outflows within the organisation

Several hedge funds have also recently altered and modified their holdings within the company. Norges Bank acquired a new position in Ball in the second quarter, which is worth approximately USD 192,463,000. JPMorgan Chase & Co. has increased its overall stake in Ball by about 44.2 per cent in the first quarter. JPMorgan Chase & Co. currently possesses 8,002,327 shares of the company valued at USD 416,681,000 after buying an additional 2,453,630 shares during the period. Robeco Institutional Asset Management B.V. has also increased its holding within the company by about 548.7 per cent in the second quarter. 

Robeco Institutional Asset Management B.V. have acquired 1,536,751 additional shares, and it now owns a total of 1,816,827 shares of the company's stock. These shares of the company are valued at USD 101,906,000. AQR Capital Management LLC has also increased its overall stake in Ball by 1,465.3 per cent in the second quarter. It is currently the owner of 1,314,786 shares of the company's stock, which amounts to about USD 73,746,000 after acquiring an additional share of 1,230,79 during this period. 

In addition, London Co. of Virginia increased its overall holding in Ball by about 61.1 per cent in the fourth quarter. London Co. of Virginia is currently the owner of 3,054,393 shares of the organisation, which amounts to about USD 168,389,000 after it acquired an additional 1,158,668 shares in the period. Institutional investors and hedge funds own almost  86.51 per cent of the shares.
