
Aluminium is 100% recyclable and does not lose any of its properties or quality when it is recycled. Aluminium has been produced for over a century and is still in production today. Its recyclability plays a critical role in its success. Recovery and recycling have proven to be so valuable - both economically and ecologically - that the industry has grown and prospered.

The services sector ranks as the largest in terms of its contribution to Estonia’s GDP. It majorly consists of shipping and transportation, telecommunications, electronics and banking sub-sectors. Other than UBC (Used Beverage Can), the shipping and electronics sector also generates some amount of aluminium scrap.
Estonia, a modern market-based economy and one of the higher per capita income levels in Central Europe and the Baltic region, exported 31,582 tonnes of aluminium scrap during 2019-21, generating revenue earnings of around $31.24 million.

In 2019, Estonia exported 9000 tonnes of aluminium scrap, incurring earnings of $7.68 million, whereas, in 2020, the export of scrap rose by 6.66%, as the export volume excelled to 9600 tonnes, while revenue earnings remained at $7.56 million.
Europe's most advanced digital society, Estonia’s export of aluminium scrap in 2021documented a sharp growth of 35.22%, as the export volume of scrap surged to 12,982 tonnes and earnings also soared to $16 million approx.
The export of aluminium scrap in 2022 is analysed with further growth of 2.08%, as the export volume is anticipated to be at 13,253 tonnes, revenue to withstand at $16.83 million.
The major destinations for Estonia’s export of aluminium scrap are Germany, China, Finland, France, Hong Kong, India, Italy, etc.
