According to Shanghai Metals Market, aluminium fluoride prices in China are likely to remain stable in the near term as a large number of producers would jointly support prices. On June 14, 2018, many major fluorochemical enterprises in Hengshan and Hunan province gathered and agreed to collaborate to support prices.
On the face of oversupplied market and thin profit margins, producers mutually agreed to stop aluminium fluoride prices from breaking the RMB 9000 per tonne level.
{alcircleadd}On Friday, June 15, the traded prices of aluminium fluoride declined as most of the transactions were done at RMB 8500 per tonne to RMB 9000 per tonne. A few transactions were even seen at RMB 8000 per tonne.
In the longer term, the aluminium fluoride prices will likely continue to fall in the China market as major fluorochemical enterprises, such as Do-Fluoride Chemicals, resume production.
On June 19 and June 20, the average aluminium fluoride price in China spot market, continued to show restraint hovering at RMB 9100 per tonne, as it had been since the end of the previous month. Prior to that, the average aluminium fluoride spot price hovered at RMB 10000 per tonne for over a month, from April 4 to May 17, in particular, followed by a slight decline to RMB 9800 per tonne on May 18, and continued till May 23, until it saw a decline to RMB 9700 per tonne on May 24. From May 28 to May 30, the price rallied at RMB 9400 per tonne and then declined to RMB 9100 per tonne on May 31.

As far as the other input costs are concerned, aluminium alloys witnessed a plunge today, on June 20, 2018, from RMB 15700 per tonne, as of June 19, to RMB 15600 per tonne. Bauxite and pre-baked anode, on the other hand, continued to remain unchanged at RMB 455 per tonne and RMB 3235 per tonne, respectively.
