
The 2017 Geneva Motor Show starts with a bang at the Geneva Palexpo in Switzerland where the renowned auto makers are showcasing their latest models. The 87th edition of the Motor Show is set to witness some of the brand new as well as reintroduced cars decked in aluminium from 9th March to 19th March 2017.

France’s legendary automaker Societe des Automobiles Alpine SAS is launching its new A110 model at The Salon. The A110 is almost 900 lbs. lighter as the company utilizes aluminium in the car’s major parts.
Porsche, the Stuttgart automaker, is going to launch its 911 Carrera S Cabriolet. The company has reduced the weight of the car with the use of an aluminium alloy crankcase, an aluminium firewall, and aluminium paddle shifters.
Jaguar Land Rover is introducing a coupe SUV called Velar. The Velar model is likely to sit on Land Rover’s aluminium-intensive architecture. The five-seat Velar is based on JLR’S aluminium-intensive IQ platform. The aluminium-bodied coupe SUV could weight 1800kg as the company is sharing same lightweight aluminium backbone as the Jaguar F-Pace.

Also the company is launching the Jaguar I-Pace. This battery-electric SUV will be making its European debut at the show.
German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz is set to introduce its new 2018 Mercedes-Benz E-Class Cabriolet at the Geneva Motor Show 2017. The car is the fifth version of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class family. The new E-Class Cabriolet features front wings, bonnet and boot lid crafted from the sheet of aluminium. The company claims most of the body structures are made from a mixture of die-cast aluminium and steel. The aluminium hybrid design makes the construction light in weight.
