
According to latest report from Aluminum Association, shipments of Aluminum Extruded Products (extruded shapes, pipe & tube, and rod & bar) by U.S. and Canadian producers totalled an estimated 358.0 million pounds during December 2017, up 4.8 per cent over the December 2016 total of 341.7 million pounds. Compared to the previous month, shipments decreased 16.9 per cent from the November 2017 revised total of 430.7 million pounds. Preliminary shipments for the full year 2017 stood at 5,312.8 million pounds, up 2.7 per cent over the same period of 2016.

Estimated shipments of Aluminum Forgings and Impacts by U.S. and Canadian producers stood at 27 million pounds during December 2017, an increase of 15.8 per cent over the December 2016 total of 23.3 million pounds. Compared to the previous month, shipments decreased 5.3 per cent from the November 2017 total of 28.5 million pounds. Preliminary shipments for 2017 stood at 359.3 million pounds, up 15.9 per cent over the same period of 2016.
Estimated shipments of Aluminum Drawing Stock, Bare Wire and Rod & Bar by U.S. and Canadian producers stood at 87.3 million pounds during December 2017, a rise of 2.1 per cent over the December 2016 total of 85.5 million pounds. Compared to the previous month, shipments decreased 8.2 per cent from the November 2017 total of 95.2 million pounds. Preliminary shipments for 2017 totalled 1,184.9 million pounds, slightly up from the same period of 2016.
