Alumina spot price in China dips by RMB3/t to stand at RMB2956/t; A00 aluminium ingot price plummets by RMB440/t

The average alumina spot price in China has further dropped over the weekend by RMB 3 per tonne to stand at RMB 2,956 per tonne as of Monday, August 15, found the Shanghai Metals Market. In Shandong, alumina price has plunged by RMB 20 per tonne to start the week at RMB 2,950 per tonne, with average prices likely to range between RMB 2,870 per tonne and RMB 3,030 per tonne. However, other provinces have witnessed no change in the average alumina spot price.

The Australian alumina FOB price in China has built up by US$7 per tonne on August 15 to settle at US$333 per tonne after a decrease of USS$4 per tonne to US$326 per tonne on Friday, August 12.

A00 aluminium ingot price has plunged by RMB 440 per tonne to come in at RMB 18,230 per tonne on August 15. The average prices are estimated to range between RMB 18,210 per tonne and RMB 18,250 per tonne, with spot contract likely to be traded at a discount price of RMB 240-200 per tonne.

In Hangzhou, A00 aluminium ingot price has also nosedived by RMB 440 per tonne to stand at RMB 18,240 per tonne, followed by the downfall of RMB 430 per tonne in Foshan to RMB 18,130 per tonne. In Wuxi, the primary aluminium ingot price has dwindled by RMB 420 per tonne to settle at RMB 18,210 per tonne, while the price in Tianjin, Chongqing, and Shenyang has shrunk by RMB 400 per tonne, RMB 390 per tonne, and RMB 380 per tonne to close at the RMB 18,250 per tonne, RMB 18,230 per tonne, and RMB 18,240 per tonne, respectively.

China’s low-carbon aluminium price has slipped by RMB 430 per tonne to stand at RMB 18,733 per tonne, while high purity aluminium (99.99%) price has slumped by RMB 400 per tonne to RMB 26,400 per tonne.

Aluminium alloy (A356) price has recorded a downfall of RMB 450 per tonne to stand at RMB 19,350 per tonne, with average prices estimated to range between RMB 19,300 per tonne and RMB 19,400 per tonne.

However, aluminium alloys (ADC12) price and aluminium alloy (A380) price have remained restrained at RMB 18,800 per tonne and RMB 19,800 per tonne, respectively.
