Alumina production in Africa & Asia (ex-China) grows 2.2% M-o-M to 1.114 million tonnes in November 2021
According to the International Aluminium Institute data, alumina production in Africa & Asia (ex-China) stood at 1.114 million tonnes in November 2021, up by 2.20 per cent from 1.090 million tonnes in October. In September, alumina output in Africa & Asia (ex-China) amounted to 1.100 million tonnes, meaning the production in October dropped by 0.91 per cent month-on-month.
On a year-on-year calculation, Africa & Asia’s (ex-China) alumina production in November edged 6.40 per cent higher than 1.047 million tonnes.
In three month time (September-November), Africa & Asia (ex-China) churned out 3.304 million tonnes of alumina, 0.27 per cent less than 3.313 million tonnes in the previous three months and 7.80 per cent more than 3.065 million tonnes during the same period last year.
From January to November 2021, alumina production in Africa & Asia totalled 12.008 million tonnes, reflecting year-on-year increase of 6.28 per cent from 11.298 million tonnes.
In November 2021, total alumina production across the world amounted to 11.352 million tonnes, essentially unchanged from 11.353 million tonnes in October and 8.36 per cent up from 10.476 million tonnes in November 2020.
